Welcome
The White Sulphur Springs Community Fund is kicking off the 3rd annual Race For This Place fun run/walk. This year the race is in benefit for the Meagher County City Library. Half of the library's building has been condemned due to a sinking foundation. The library board is currently working on plans to purchase land in order to build a new Library. This race is about community support and fun, so runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome.

The race will be on July 4th at 7:00 AM with a 15k, 5K and 1M Run/Walk. All routes will begin at the Meagher County Courthouse proceeding west of town on Highway 360. The 5k and the 1 mile run/walk are an out and back course over the North fork of the Smith River and along highway 360. This year a 15k race has been added. This course will be run on mostly dirt roads west of town. It is a scenic run through surrounding ranchland with spectacular views of the Big Belt and Castle Mountains. Most of the course is flat; the one substantial hill provides one of the best views in the Smith River Valley. There will be one aid station about 1/2 way through the 15k and 5k.

Participants and volunteers will receive a T-shirt, certificate, and goodies. Continental breakfast, award ceremony, and door prizes will be immediately following the race. Racers are encouraged to ride on the Race Float in the local parade being held at 11:00 AM. Register for only $15.00 until June 20th, and $20.00 until race day. In lieu of registration fee, participants are welcome to obtain pledges. Early registration and packet pickup will be July 3rd from 5:30 p.m. -7:30 p.m. across the street from the Spa Hot Springs. Late Registration will be July 4th beginning at 6:00 a.m. at the Meagher County Courthouse (no guarantee on shirt availability with late registration).

White Sulphur Springs offers many other fun activities for the family surrounding July 4th. There will be a Ranch Rodeo, Firecracker golf tournament, baseball, horseshoe tournament, Barbeque, and of course no Fourth of July celebration would be complete without fireworks. For area information, as well as information on local accommodations, please visit the Meagher County Chamber of Commerce, and don't forget to support our sponsors who are helping to make this event possible.
